Host-guest complexation of pillar6arenes towards neutral nitrile guests

The selective binding behavior of a series of nitrile derivatives by ethylated pillar6arene (EtP6A) is described. This work represents the first example of complexation of neutral guests by pillar6arenes, although those for pillar5arenes have been well documented.
