It has been shown that it is possible to develop an air-dry or force-dry coating that will satisfy or exceed the requirements of use. The coating will provide the desired appearance and protective properties while undergoing periodic high-temperature conditions. In this case the hope that many development chemists have--that positive synergies will be found--is satisfied. The positive contributions of the disparate components of the formulation enhance one another. The success of this type of approach means that brake system parts may be finished in many existing plants without the need to replace current application lines.
