The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of the United States has sponsored a program of geodetic investigations based on altimeter data from Seasat. The results obtained include Seasat orbit determination, analysis of the geoidal resolution capability of the altimeter, seamount detection, and.geoidal improvement.
