Twelve N-substituted N-(trimethylstannyl)cyanamides were prepared by allowing bis(trimethylstannyl)carbodiimide to react separately with acid chlorides, methyl chlorocarbonate, and arylsulfonyl chlorides. The tin in these compounds was shown to have a coordination number greater than four by means of IR, PMR, and M#xF6;ssbauer spectroscopy.
