Fensulfothion, fenitrothion, carbofuran, and DDT were applied as granules to the surface of a pasture at 2.24 kg a.i./ha. Enchytraeidae and Diptera larvae were heat-extracted from soil cores by a water-filled-funnel technique. Numbers of Enchytraeidae in all treatments (lid not diffcr from those of the control plots, whereas there was a significant (P 0.01) increase in numbers of Chironomidae larvae in the carbofuran treated plots.
