Meiotic and Mitotic Studies of a Familial Reciprocal Translocation Between Two Autosomes of Group 6–12

A reciprocal translocation between two autosomes of the 6–12 group was found in a balanced state in four phenotypically normal members of a family. Ascertainment was through a severely affected girl with an unbalanced state of the translocation. Meiotic studies in one carrier of the balanced state confirmed the nature of the reciprocal translocation and made it possible to exclude the involvement of an X chromosom
