Twisted pair cables, such as those used for automotive cables, can be produced on machines based on Niehoff's new D631 double-twist strander and equipped with an energy-saving single bow. A feature of such a system is that it works with the Germany-based company's NPS laying technique.A feature of the D631 double-twist machine is a one-bow design which results in a far lower drive rating and noise level than is traditional. And, the rotor, pull-off capstan and spool drive are equipped with low-maintenance ac drives.
