Evaluation of clinical trials of Computer-aided Diagnosis system for Lung Cancer Detection based on CT Images

Low does Helical CT images have drawn a great ability to detect small peripheral nodules. However, this detection leads to a considerable number of images to be diagnosed. For the solution, we have developed a computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) system. In July 1997, we have started clinical trials using our system in National Cancer Hospital. In this paper, we evaluate the performance between initial screening and repeated screening, the effective of the CAD system to lung cancer screening.
