Reflectometer and pyroreflectometer equipped with optical fibre probes for measurements in severe conditions

Devices and methods are presented in which optical fibre probes are used for temperature and thermoracliative property measurements. The measurements can be made in situ, under severe conditions (high temperature, difficult accessibility, controlled atmosphere, etc)., A monochromatic reflectometer for measurement of the bidirectional reflectivity for severaldirections and for the evaluation of the hemispherical reflectivity is presented. A bicolour pyroreflectometer, which.;determines the emissivity of opaque and diffuse materials. and consequently the true surface temperature, is also presented. Specific examples show the capability of these devices perform accurate measurements on materials with significant modification of their surface .(emissivity evolution, surface oxidation, etc).
