AbstractThis paper is concerned with fault detection for adaptive control. Experimental results of the long‐range adaptive controller MUSMAR coupled with a fault detection mechanism are presented. The experiments were performed on pilot systems in real time. The fault detection mechanism was used to improve the performance of the MUSMAR controller during the occurrence of fault
