摘要

The current over-supply of grapes, together with the ongoing lack of River Murray water, has provided a challenging 2009 season for winegrape growers. Returns on grapes, especially in lower paying areas such as the South Australian Riverland, has notjustified the purchase of much additional water this season. Growers welcomed recent rain across the southern Murray-Darling Basin with soils receiving much-needed moisture. With most grapegrowers now finished their watering for the season, they are nowlooking at balancing their water accounts and managing for carryover water.
