The former personal transport of Gen Douglas MacArthur, Lockheed C-121A 48-613 Bataan was flown from the Planes of Fame Museum outstation at Valle-Grand Canyon Airport in Arizona to the main museum site at Chino, California on 14 January. It will now be restored to original condition by a team from Fighter Rebuilders and some technicians from the owners of the historic machine, Lewis Air Legends (LAL). The work could take up to two years to complete. Fighter Rebuilders boss Steve Hinton and Stewart Dawson - who flew LAL's F8F Bearcat Rare Bear at the Reno Air Races in 2015 - were at the controls for the ferry flight, made with the undercarriage locked down. The aircraft had not flown since arriving at Valle in 1995. Following acquisition by LAL from Planes of Fame in March 2015 the Constellation has undergone several months of preparation to get it back into the air.
