New mixed-ligand complexes of cobalt(II) of the general formula co(acac)2(L)2/Co(meacac)2(L)2/Co (etacac)2(L)2 (where L = 4-pyridinealdoxime and nickel (II) of compositions Ni (acac)2(L)2/ Ni(meacac)2(L)2/Ni(etacac)2(L)2(where L = 2-pyridineamidoxime) and Ni(acac)2(L-L)/Ni(meacac)2(L-L)/Ni (etacac)2(L-L)(where L-L = 2-(2#x2032;-pyridyl)imidazoline have been synthesized by refluxing M(acac)2(H20)2/M (meacac)2(H20)2/M(etacac) 2(H20)2 (where M = Co(II) or Ni(II)) with the said heterocyclic nitrogen donors. The resulting complexes have been characterized on the basis of analytical data, molar conductances, magnetic measurements, electronic and infra-red spectral studies.
