"Over the past five years the baby and child specific products category has outperformed the overall beauty market with a 3 CAGR, during the period 2011-16. There were significant regional differences; while Asia Pacific registered a near 8 CAGR, over the same period the growth in Western Europe remained flat due to the continuous decline of birth rates in that region. And global growth just last year decelerated, dragged down by Latin America due to the recent political and economic upheavals seen in large markets such as Brazil and Venezuela. Going forward, China is also a pivotal market to watch, generating 82 of regional growth up to 2021, fuelled by the recent implementation of the two-child policy.
