An appraisal of the Thyrsophorinae stat.nov. (Psocoptera, Psocidae) and of its constituent genera from the Neotropics

AbstractThyrosophoridae is reduced to a subfamily (Thyrsophorinae) of the Psocidae, and a revised key to genera given.Dictyopsocusis allied withPoecilopsocusas a subgenus ofThyrsopsocus. Thyrsophorus anticusandT.leucotelusare transferred toThyrsopsocus (Poecilopsocus). Augmented descriptions, including figures of genitalia, are given for eight described species of Thyrsophorinae (Thyrsophorus speciosus, Thyrsopsocus (Dictyopsocus) pennicorniscomb.n.,T.(P.)caloroides, T.(P.)iridescens, T.(Thyrsopsocus)bellusandT.(T.)psocoides).
