AbstractKinetic parameters from the Doyle thermograms have been calculated by the differential method. These results are compared with results calculated by an integral method. It is shown that in the case of a simple process having a single value for the activation energy and order of reaction, both methods lead to about the same results. For a more complex reaction, such as the volatilization of polytetrafluoroethylene, the integral method will lead to dubious results.
