This work describes how to work out mathematical relationships between speed, density and intensity of traffic over internodal sections of dual-carriageway streets. These relationships have been determined on the basis of study results, performed by the authors using the NC-97 appliance and making use of the general philosophy of the traffic model structure over internodal sections of interurban roads, described in the study. As a result of the performed research and analyses, the authors concluded that the outer lane is characterised by significantly worse traffic conditions. This fact results from speed differences between vehicles going on those lanes. It has also been determined that, in so called ideal conditions, the capacity of the inner lane amounts to about 1900 veh/h, whereas the outer lane ― about 1500 veh/h. The capacity value for the outer lane departs significantly from the values presented so far in other publications and it amounts to 1900 veh/h.
