The extraction of HSCN with Aliquat 336 (thiocyanide form) has been studied within a wide concentration range. The mechanism of the extraction process has been considered. It was established that at low concentrations (to about 0.05M-) the dimerized extracting agent reacts with HSCN according to the equation: (TKMA· SCN)20+ Hw++SCNw−⇌ (TKMA· SCN)2HSCNowhile at high concentrations, the quantitative description of the extraction is more complex, due to the high degree of association of the extracting agent.
