On the Etiologic Association of Viral Infection and Illness

The current experiences of associating viral infection with disease entities is reminiscent of the early days of bacteriology, except that the problem is much more complex. Time will no doubt make these interrelationships more definitive. As a clinician tends to classify disease as viral he should do so with the knowledge of the intangibles involved.
