Whilst industrial chemicals such as detergents, special additives, halogenated compounds and pharmaceutically active ingredients are investigated more or less intensively with regard to their toxic and ecotoxicological properties within the scope of the registration process, apart from newer pesticides 1, this is not the case for their decomposition and degradation products.
