Canon Inc. and Fujinon Corp. took advantage of the International Broadcast Equipment Exhibition 2008 (InterBEE '2008) held last November at the Makuhari Messe in Japan's Chiba Prefecture to exhibit their respective lineup of products intended for high-definition (HD) video broadcasting. These products are aimed as well to improve workflow and diverse production needs at broadcast stations. Specifically, Canon has introduced during the show the HJ14ex4.3B portable zoom lens for HD broadcast, which was demonstrated to selected guests during the show. The new product is planned for market introduction in May 2009. This likewise signifies the company's intention to prop up vigorously the expansion of HD video production, which ranges from broadcast stations to industrial uses.
