Waveguide lenses have been formed for the first time in yttrium iron garnethyphen;gadolinium gallium garnet (YIGhyphen;GGG) waveguides by using ion milling. Hybridhyphen;type single lenses, lens arrays, and collimationhyphen;Fourierhyphen;transform lens pairs fabricated have shown good efficiency and nearhyphen;diffractionhyphen;limited focal spot sizes. These waveguide lenses should facilitate realization of magnetostatic wave based integrated magnetohyphen;optic device modules for applications in communications and signal processing.
