Chinese teakettles win crude import rights

China's independent refiners have won government permission to import crude in 2017 after several weeks of delays that caused queues at some ports. The commerce ministry finally renewed major independent refiners' crude import quotas on 13 January, ending weeks of uncertainty. But it will not disclose what quantity of crude each refiner will be allowed to import until around 3 February, after the Chinese lunar new year public holidays.
