US offshore medium sour Mars reached its narrowest monthly discount in nearly two years — buoyed by tight global sour crude supply amid the ability to export US crude — despite rising Mars production and increased Canadian shipments to the US Gulf coast. June Mars averaged a $1.08/bl discount to WTI, up 32¢/ bl compared with the May trade-month average, which was already the strongest value relative to the benchmark since September 2015.
