Shoots ofAmbrosia maritimaL. fed to chickens at 2 and 10 percent of the basic diet for 6 weeks were not lethal. Average body weights and efficiency of feed utilization were markedly depressed in the chicks on feed with 10 percentAmbrosia, while growth of chicks on 2 percentAmbrosiawas promoted as compared with chicks on a control diet. Organ lesions correlated with changes in clinical chemistry and hematology. Tissue recovery was incomplete 3 weeks following withdrawal from the test diets containingAmbrosia.
