Transistorised electronic equipment is described which can be used for the continuous recording of changes in leaf wetness on living ryegrass (Lolium) leaves (using microclip electrodes) in pasture herbage in a semi-quantitative manner. It was designed for use in studies on spore dispersal and spore leaf loads of the facial eczema fungusPithomyces chartarum(Berk. amp; Curt.) M. B. Ellis. The bridge, vibrator, and amplifier circuitry may also be used with non-living sensing elements in pastures.
