摘要

With the high sensitivity to small deformations, the ground-based synthetic aperture radar (GBSAR) has been commonly used in the deformation monitoring applications, such as landslide, slope stability, and glaciers. Most of them are based on the interferometric use of GBSAR, which is not suitable for the sea surface observation because of the long azimuth scanning time. This paper exploits SAR amplitude imagery to explore the possibility of nearshore sea surface observation by GBSAR. Several field experiments have been conducted at Wanghaixiang Bay in Keelung city for GBSAR imaging. Multi-temporal average filter is used for the speckle reduction of the focused images. The experiment results show that some features corresponding to the roughness conditions of the sea surface are obvious in GBSAR images.
