Employers understand that the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) applies when an employer is dealing with its unionized employees. Employers also understand that when employees attempt to form a union, the NLRA governs this organizing activity. The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) is the administrative agency charged with enforcing the NLRA. Concerted activity is when two or more employees of the same employer band together to negotiate for better wages, hours or working conditions. The NLRA prohibits any employer from taking any action to restrain, coerce or interfere with an employee's right to join or refrain from joining or voting for a union.
