Bis-#x3B2;-Diketonato Bridged Binuclear Complexes of Ruthenium(III) with Triphenylphosphine and Triphenylarsine

Hexacoordinated binuclear ruthenium(III) complexes of the type {RuX2(EPh3)2}2(#x3BC;-BDK) (where X=Cl or Br and BDK=bis-#x3B2;-diketonate) have been prepared by the reactions of RuCl3(AsPh3)3, RuCl3(PPh3)3, RuBr3(AsPh3)3 and RuBr3(PPh3)2(CH3OH) with bis-#x3B2;-diketones. The complexes have been characterised by means of analytical and spectroscopic (IR, electronic and EPR) data. Octahedral structures are proposed for all these complexes.
