Social energies and struggle for places. the 'natural lake' in the former Cisa/Snia Viscosa area in Rome

The case study investigates, in a geographical point of view, events related to the the former Snia Viscosa factory reuse in Rome. This experience, not so much in architectural terms, but as social and functional practice, passes through a long history of local community reappropriation. The paper presents an interpretation of a social conflict between legalizing vision of commons and instances of legitimate appropriation of territories. In this context, territorialisation / reterritorialisation process is developed through a series of "nodes", or "crossroads", in relation to which geographic knowledge has very considerable potential, often unexpressed.
