A Convenient Synthesis of Aryl Silanes from Chlorobenzenes

The coupling of chlorobenzenes with trimethyl-chlorosilane and dimethyldichlorosilane using magnesium in refluxing THF to give trimethylarylsilanes and dimethyldiarylsilanes, respectively, is reported.
