The profit-and-loss statement represents the basic financial statement drycleaners need to rely upon. Some drycleaners never prepare such a statement. Many don't see the need, and may or may not prepare one. Some prepare such statements or receive prepared statements from their accountants, finding them of little use and paying the bill for its preparation with frustration. Other owners are able to prepare this statement, understand it and use it to improve business operations.
