This study aims at analyzing drivers' behavior in acquiring andusing traffic information in an envi- ronment with multipleinformation sources. Accordingly, information acquisition andreference models are developed in an effort to show the empiricalrelationship between drivers' reaction to multiple informationsources, causal factors latent psychological ones, traffic conditionsat the time of traveling and the accuracy psychological ones, trafficconditions at the time of traveling and the accuracy of trafficinformation available. A route choice model is proposed that takesinto account the information acquisition and reference process. Modelvalidity is investigated using data collected on the Tokyo Met-ropolitan Expressway, which has four different types of informationsources.
