The effect of nitrogen and potash fertilizer and spacing on plant growth parameters

Chrysanthemum plant growth parameters studied at different doses of nitrogen and potash fertilizers and plant spacings showed varying results. Nitrogen application at 160 kg/ha produced better plant growth over higher and lower dose including plant height, no of primary and secondary branches and dry matter accumulation in vegetative part which is the basis of better yield. Potash application was more effective at 180 kg/ha to show an increase in the plant growth parameters at all stages of growth. Adose of 60 and 120 kg/ha potash was not so affected. Although 120 kg/ha potash produced more branches in Chrysanthemum plants. Plant spacing of 30–45 cm produced taller plants but spreading of plants was more at 60–45 cm spacing.
