On sampling of three units using varying probabilities

A sample selection procedure for selecting three units from a finite population is proposed. The methods makes use of varying probabilities of selection. It gives a class of PS and non PS sampling schemes. It is established that the SEN - YATES - GRUNDY form of the variance estimator always takes non negative values for the sampling schemes belonging to the general class
