A cell wall lytic enzyme (gamete wall-autolysin) fromChlamydomonas reinhardtiispecifically cleaved several synthetic model peptides,α-neo-endorphin, dynorphin (1–13), neurotensin and mastoparan, at the peptide bonds between consecutive hydrophobic amino-acid residues.
