Concern for inspector safety has prompted some state low-income housing tax credit allocating agencies to take protective measures for on-site compliance monitoring inspections. The Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) has adopted a policy that allows compliance monitoring staff members who feel that their safety may be in jeopardy to forgo an on-site review or to substitute units for the ones originally scheduled to be inspected, according to Brian Carnahan, director of program compliance.
