摘要

The selective carboxylation of 4-biphenylcarboxylic acid with carbon tetrachloride in aqueous alkali to obtain 4,4′-biphenyldicarboxylic acid was achieved by the use of β-cyclodextrin and copper powder Ⅱ under mild conditions.
