With many of its hydro operations and maintenance personnel moving toward retirement and taking with them a wealth of knowledge and experience, American Electric Power Co. needed to develop new performance standards and training programs. The resulting employee development and promotion processes will ensure a smooth transition in operations of the hydroelectric facilities during a time of significant turnover.
