Dielectric properties of (1minus;x)Pb(In1/2Nb1/2)O3minus;xPbZrO3(Zrhyphen;PIN) and (1minus;x)Pb(In1/2Nb1/2) O3minus;xPb(Yb1/2Nb1/2)O3(Ybhyphen;PIN) mixed crystal systems were investigated under hydrostatic pressures up to 0.7 GPa. There are striking pressure effects in these systems. In Zrhyphen;PIN (x=0.1) the temperatureTm, indicating the maximum of the dielectric constant, egr;rmprime;, decreases at the rate ofdTm/dpverbar;p=0=minus;54thinsp;deg;C/GPa, and the egr;rmprime;decreases with increasing pressure, while in Zrhyphen;PIN (x=0.34) theTmdecreases at the rate ofdTm/dpverbar;p=0=minus;100thinsp;deg;C/GPa, and the egr;rmprime;decreases and the maximum value of the tanthinsp;dgr;, denoted as tanthinsp;dgr;m, increases with increasing pressure. For Ybhyphen;PIN (x=0.16) theTmincreases at the rate ofdTm/dp=155thinsp;deg;C/GPa, both the egr;rmprime;and the tanthinsp;dgr;mdecrease with increasing pressure. copy;1996 American Institute of Physics.
