A Generalized Formal Approach for Description and Analysis of Major Indian Scripts

There exists a fundamental commonness among all major Indian Scripts with regard to the origin, nature, structure and characteristics of the scripts. Generalized syntactic approach can be made' for the generation and analysis of these scripts. A grammar using Single Attachment Multinodal Entities (SAME) is proposed for the generation of all Bengali and Hindi characters. Microprocessor based algorithm for generation is developed and described. The use of the same grammar for analysis of these and other scripts as well as hand-written script is discussed.
