SUMMARYEighteen patients with long standing pityriasis lichenoides were treated with UV‐B phototherapy. Fourteen patients (82.4) had a good response to the treatment with complete clearance in nine patients (53.0) and more than 90 clearance in five patients (29.4). Three patients (17.6) did not clear but all had definite improvement. One patient defaulted after 10 treatments. Of the 14 patients who cleared, 12 were followed up for a period ranging from six months to three years and five months. Six patients remained clear. Four patients had a few recurrent lesions which did not necessitate re‐treatment, and three of these patients eventually cleared spontaneously.
