BOC Edwards has purchased the vacuum and pressure interests of Smiths Group-which comprises four companies - for pound 12.8 million.The four companies: Stokes Vacuum; Hick Hargreaves; Hibon and Wilhelm Klein are expected to add some pound 50M to BOC Edwards' annual sales revenue. At present, they employ some 700 people in North America and Europe and have strong links with the metallurgy, wastewater, power, chemical, petrochemical and food markets.
