More and more combustion sources, including turbines, boilers, and even small internal combustion engines, soon may be required to monitor NO{sub}x emissions under EPA regulations. Increasingly stringent emissions requirements have amplified the need for simple, reliable, and cost effective monitoring solutions. Simplified NO{sub}x monitoring is required both for regulatory compliance and for control systems that utilize post-combustion NO{sub}x reduction technologies like selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and selective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR). Small gas-fired combustion sources cannot be burdened with complicated and expensive monitoring solutions that have plagued the emissions monitoring industry in the past.
