India is investigating a possible ban on petroleum coke imports after the Supreme Court directed the government to fnd ways to reduce severe air pollution in India’s capital Delhi. The prime minister’s offce has asked several governmental offces, including the oil ministry, to look for ways to reduce pollution in Delhi and surrounding areas, according to sources at the state-controlled oil frm IOC, the oil ministry and the Centre for Science and Environment. The centre is an Indian environmental non-governmental organisation that monitors petroleum coke use closely.
