The Latest Technologies of CCFLs for Large Area LCD-TVs

The improvements of higher lumen CCFLs applied for BL units of large area LCD-TVs were investigated. This has clarified that the larger-area hollow type Nb-electrode design is appropriate for suppressing the serious cathode sputtering in such CCFLs. Also the greatly dense and thin TiO2 layer formation of average particle diameter ~100nm and limited thicknesslOO ~200nm is effective for cutting the 313nm UV line that degrades the resin components of BL units.
