摘要

Recently, body-centric wireless communication using a device including a radio terminal placed in/on body has received an increasing attention. In order to investigate the transmission mechanism of the wearable device for on-body wireless communications analytically, we derive the exact solution represented by the eigenfunction solution for the scattered electromagnetic fields and discuss them. Hence the propagation characteristic by the wearable device attached to a human body is considered, we approximate the body as a dielectric circular cylinder. First, the frequency-domain integral representations of the eigenfunction solutions for the scattered electric fields are derived. From this, the transmission coefficient between the transmitting and the receiving antennas in the vicinity of the dielectric cylinder is obtained analytically. Also, the UWB-IR system influenced by the human body is evaluated in terms of BER.
