A Case Study of Energy Savings by using the Water-Side Economiser System in a Large Office Building in Montreal

This paper presents the feasibility study of the implementation of a water-side economizer system in a large existing office building in Montreal, for reducing the electricity consumption and the peak electric demand for chillers in winter. The evaluation was performed by computer simulation using the MICRO-DOE2 program. The study predicts, under conservative assumptions, energy savings of about 34,000 CAN$/year.
