While many industries suffered financial blows during the COV1D19 pandemic, the online shopping market was not one of them. According to the Office for National Statistics (https://www.ons.gov.uk/economy/grossdomesticproductgdp/articles/impactofthecoronavi ruscovidl9pandemiconretailsalesin2020/2021-01-28), online sales rose to a record high of 33.9 as a proportion of all retail spending in 2020. A report by delivery management company Metapack (https://info.metapack.com/rs/700ZMT- 762/images/Ecommerce20Deliverv20Benchmark20Report2020222028229.p df), published in March 2022, suggested this trend could be here to stay, with more than a quarter of surveyed consumers expecting to stick with online shopping preferences after the pandemic ends.
