摘要

Abstract Zinc cobalt-doped phosphate glasses with chemical composition 45P2O5? 4Co3O4– (11?+?x) Na2O—(40?x) ZnO where (x?=?0,2,4,6,8 and 10?mol) were prepared by the conventional melt-quenching technique. These glasses were characterized using x-ray diffraction (XRD), and U-V optical absorption. The density of these glasses was measured by the Archimedes method. The physical properties such as density (ρ), molar volume (Vm) and oxygen packing density (OPD) were calculated and discussed. The value of density ranges from 3.258 to 3.44 gm/cm3 and those of molar volume range from 34.509 to 34.429?cm?3. No sharp edges were found in XRD analyses which confirm the glassy nature of the prepared sample.
